The actual Traveling Wilburys were a British and American supergroup formed in Los Angeles in 1988, consisting of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty. They were described as "perhaps the biggest supergroup of all time".
The Traveling Wilburys tribute began in 2023 when Chris Lockheed was playing the Traveling Wilburys record and looked them up. He discovered they had never played live, so he decided that this music is great and needs to be performed on stage for audiences across the country. He contacted professional musicians he knew and explained the concept. Everyone was excited to join. They rehearsed acoustically for four months to make sure they had the arrangements and vocal parts down. Chris then put the set together interspersing hits from each artist's catalogues that were most popular in order to have something for everyone. The result is a fantastic show that has played to full houses in areas they had never been. This joyful performance has everyone up dancing, singing to all their favorite songs. And best of all, venues are excited to have them back!
